Position Description

Join our healthcare team as a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in Acute Care. This locum tenens opportunity is based in Las Vegas, NV, a city renowned for its vibrant entertainment, diverse dining, and stunning desert landscapes. You will work in a cardiothoracic surgery unit at an acute care hospital, delivering comprehensive care to cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients.

Location: Las Vegas, NV
Facility: Acute care hospital
Start Date: September 25, 2025
End Date: December 25, 2025
Shift: 24-hour call every three weeks, 7a-5p on non-call days
Shift Duration: 10 Hour Days
Duration: 13-week contract

Job Requirements

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
Valid NP license in Nevada or IMLC
Residency/Fellowship in relevant field
BLS, ACLS, DEA certifications
Clean malpractice history
Minimum of 1 year of experience in cardiothoracic surgery

Responsibilities

Assist with inpatient management of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
Provide preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care
First assist in CVT surgeries
Round on inpatients and coordinate interdisciplinary care
Consult on ER patients, providing diagnosis and appropriate care plans
Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications as necessary
Work within a multidisciplinary team
